Projects for students

We are open to suggestions for investigations relating to shellfish, seaweed and invasive species. Feel free to contact us with your ideas and discuss potential projects.

The Danish Shellfish Centre works with all aspects of production in coastal areas, however, as the name suggests our primary focus is shellfish. We conduct research into traditional aquaculture species such as blue mussels and oysters as well as developing research on “new” aquaculture species as seaweed and starfish. Our research is often conducted in cooperation with industry partners allowing a good understanding of the real world applications of out work. Read more about our research here

Content: Student projects typically take the form of experimental investigations or in situ sampling in the Limfjorden and are carried out at the Danish Shellfish Centre, Nykøbing Mors.

Duration: Previous projects have ranged from a number of weeks to 6 months.

Type: Bachelor and MSc projects, visiting researcher investigations. Prospective PhD students are advised to contact potential supervisors directly to discuss their ideas.
